Did you call in "Gay" today?

Yeah me neither, but I guess it was a popular thing to do today. I saw a few articles posted on the world wide web today about homosexuals uniting and trying to show "us" heterosexuals that they do matter or something like that. Good thing my only employee didn't call in gay. There would have been problems. First he is my brother in law and second I would have fired him. Good thing for everyone he isn't gay.

From an article on KSL.com I am reading this and wondering if we can get everyday to be a day without a gay. That would be great. The article.

Some employees might be calling in sick today, and not because of a cold or the flu.

Organizers call today "A day without a gay." The idea is for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders to call in sick to prove they would be missed.

"Without the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender population of the country, infrastructure suffers greatly," said Doug Jennings with Utah Pride.

He does not know how many gays will stay home. But he knows it won't be easy to call in sick.

"Ultimately it's up to the individual. We think people understand what their work environments are like and whether they can take that kind of a risk with their employer," he said.

Gay students are urged not to call in sick.
