I find it amazing that people don't realize they are supposed to pay their mortgage. I love how someone that is getting their house foreclosed says they are "paying" for AIG to go on retreats. From the story it sounds like he isn't paying anything. Otherwise he wouldn't be getting his house foreclosed.
Utahn calls foreclosure of his home ‘ironic' following government bailout
One local homeowner is feeling the bailout blues. He says American General, a subsidiary of AIG is foreclosing on his property despite receiving government help to keep the company in business.
Nick says he owns his own business, which has made it tough to refinance with another mortgage company. He can't afford his mortgage payment, but wants to keep his home.
He says he's tried to work with American General to keep his family there. "They've been so unrelenting and unwilling to come up with some arrangement that would serve both of our purposes," Nick said.
Nick finds it ironic since the parent company, AIG, just received billions of dollars in financial assistance, and workers have been taking retreats.
"I make the joke that if they're gonna go to those resorts, then I should probably be able to go with them since I'm the one paying for it," he said.
A local American General representative says the company works with all of its homeowners to rewrite loans, but adds there are some they just can't help.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public. When will we learn that the government won't, can't, and shouldn't protect us against our own irrationale actions?
